The animal care attendant’s role is to keep the animals clean, fed, and enriched throughout the day, as well as keep the work areas clean, and well stocked. Job Duties are heavily focused on handling dogs, and cats of various temperaments; cleaning & sanitizing; monitoring animal behavior; observing safety rules & regulations; providing good customer service; courteous to fellow employees, volunteers, and the public is a must.

While performing these duties, the employee is frequently on their feet the most part of the day, walking a minimum of 6 miles per day, and able to lift & carry 50 pounds. The following additional skills will contribute to success in this position: Attention to detail & the ability to stay focused & flexible in a fast-paced environment.
