Buddy (originally Deerpark) and Jackson walked by each other and us when my mother and I visited AWSOM in December of 2017 and we took them both! 5 and a half years later, they continue to run up and down the stairs, sleep on fuzzy blankets, and watch the wildlife from their cat tree and the kitchen windows.

Let me introduce you to 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗹𝗲𝘆 (his actual name), leader of one of the toughest K9 street gangs in the Poconos, The Woofs.
Thankfully he has decided to leave the gang life behind and come live with me. He doesn’t need to be out in them streets!
He now goes by Stanley, Stan if you give him treats! Welcome home buddy! Thanks for allowing me to adopt you.

February 2022
This is Jax adopted in Feb 2022. (I also attached his AWSOM photo when he was posted). When I went to meet Jax I thought for sure he would need some outside training. No outside training was needed.
After being in my home the first couple of days with two other labs around his age (one being 1 DAY younger than him), Jax fit right in. He didn't need to be crated at night or when I went to work. He walks on a leash and listens off leash.
He is a great cuddler with humans and his lab brothers. He likes to ride in the car, relax in a window or outside observing the world around him, playing with his brothers, and is beginning to swim and play ball more.
Jax is so smart he knows how to tell time. He will make sure you follow his schedule by barking when it's time to get up, eat, and go to bed.
Many wondered what his breed was. It turned out he was 100% lab. (Not that it mattered either way ❤️)
Going to meet Jax was one of the best decisions I ever made. I was lucky that he was still available when I contacted AWSOM.

- Shelter Name: Chip
- Forever Name: Basil
After months of thinking and talking about getting a pet, we knew AWSOM was the place to go. As we drove to the shelter that day, we were filled with nervousness and excitement. As we often checked the AWSOM Facebook page daily, we were uncertain if we would be able to find a kitten that day. Our appointment was scheduled for 1:00 pm. “Chip” just arrived back at the shelter from foster minutes before our appointment. Our prayers were answered. It has almost been 3 weeks since we adopted our Basil. Our boy is loving and playful. He enjoys playing with all of his toys, watching Disney movies, and zooming around our apartment. He often sits by our sliding glass door to take a look outside. Basil is a curious kitty and is always exploring his home. Basil is the best little Kitty ever and we are so blessed to have him. A huge thank you to AWSOM for allowing us to find our fur baby.❤️

Just two old broads connected and happy.

This is KoKo!!
Within one year, we lost our two surviving parents, both of our dogs, and three of our cats. It was a very hard year for us and our hearts were shattered into a million pieces. Enter the wonderful Dr. Sandra Fellin, one of the AWSOM board members! She was able to make a perfect love connection for us and we couldn’t be happier! Thank you so much to Sandy and the AWSOM crew!

I've been meaning to send photos of Pumpernickel for a while now. My partner and I adopted him on August 6th, and it is absolutely one of the best decisions we've ever made. He is so painfully sweet, affectionate, and playful. We've kept his shelter name, but we affectionately call him Mr. Nickels when we're feeling fancy.
His favorite activities include meowing (such a talkative boy!), being chased around the house, and cuddling. We are so thankful to everyone at AWSOM for bringing Pumpernickel into our lives :).

December 2019 & February 2021

- Shelter name: Gucci
- Forever Name: Teddy

January 2023 we adopted Bushy (now Riley). He loves to snuggle on the couch and treat time is his favorite time of the day.
It breaks my heart to know that both my fur-babies spent so long in the shelter but I am forever grateful they chose me to be their human!

Strawberry likes hard surfaces to lay on Key likes soft, they both enjoy tearing the blinds and curtains down, bathing each other, and eating, eating, and eating.
